Plumbing Repairs

We Have found your leak, now what?

What Happens After Your Pool Leak Detection Service?

After your professional pool leak detection with Skippers Pool Leak Detection, you’ll receive a detailed repair estimate outlining the recommended next steps. Because every pool system and every leak is different, we customize our repair approach to match your specific situation.

Our goal is simple: accurate diagnosis, honest recommendations, and long-lasting repairs.

Example: Leak in Pool Jet Plumbing

If your leak is found within the plumbing connected to your return jets, our technician will schedule your repair for the next available appointment. When we return, we repeat the detection process — but this time we focus exclusively on the affected line. This ensures pinpoint accuracy before any repair work begins.

Our Precision Pool Leak Detection Process

For leaks located in the return line, we follow a proven, step-by-step process designed to deliver reliable results.

1. System Isolation

All return jets are securely plugged, and the return line is sealed at the equipment pad to isolate the plumbing line.

2. Pressure Testing

We apply controlled air pressure to the isolated line to confirm whether pressure loss is occurring — a strong indicator of a hidden leak.

3. Acoustic Leak Location

Using advanced electronic listening equipment (geophones), we trace the plumbing line around the pool deck while listening for the distinct sound of escaping air.

4. Targeted Test Drilling

Once a strong signal is identified, we drill a small, clean ½-inch test hole in the suspected area of the deck to verify the leak location.

5. Leak Confirmation & Repair

If the sound confirms the leak, we proceed with careful excavation and professional repair — minimizing damage while maximizing precision.

Thorough, Accurate, and Never Rushed

If we do not immediately detect a clear signal, we continue the triangulation and verification process. This level of pool leak detection can take several hours and requires experience, patience, and advanced equipment.

This meticulous approach is what separates experienced pool leak detection specialists like Skippers Pool Leak Detection from less thorough providers.

Concerned about the finished product?

When going through your pool deck to make a leak repair we know you are apprehensive about the appearance of the finished product.

While we cannot make it look like it never happened, we have the ability to perform patches to the most common concrete decks and most textured finishes; as well as light masonry.

Fixing a broken plumbing line

How we repair plumbing leaks thru deck

To begin the repair process, our technician carefully cuts a clean, straight-edged opening in the pool deck using a professional-grade diamond blade. This allows for a precise access point while keeping surrounding concrete intact.

Next, we use a compact demolition hammer to break through the concrete within the cut area, minimizing vibration and unnecessary damage to the deck.

All removed concrete is collected for proper disposal. Once the area is opened, we carefully excavate down to the plumbing line and fully expose the leaking pool pipe so it can be professionally repaired.

locating the Leak point

As we dig downward toward the affected area, we carefully follow the sound and moisture patterns identified during testing. This allows us to stay on track and avoid unnecessary excavation.

We create an access cavity large enough to work safely and effectively. In some cases, we may extend the opening slightly in a specific direction to better trace the leak path and ensure accurate location.

By following the flow of air bubbles and water movement, we can pinpoint the exact source of the problem — whether it’s a cracked pipe, broken fitting, or damaged section of plumbing..

Professional Pool Plumbing Repair

Once the leak is fully exposed, the damaged section of pipe is carefully cut out and removed. We then rebuild the line using a series of PVC 90-degree fittings to relieve stress on the plumbing and create a stronger, longer-lasting repair.

After the repair is complete, the plumbing line is pressure tested to ensure the leak has been fully resolved and meets quality standards.

The excavation area is then backfilled with soil, and if concrete was removed, we restore the pool deck as needed to leave the area safe and structurally sound.
